Do You Know How Fast Your Broadband Download & Upload Speeds Need to Be?
Some broadband customers searching for an internet plan or deal are unaware of how much download and upload speeds they need. That’s why we created this download speed calculator to help customers calculate the maximum download and upload speeds their household uses.Ā
Did you know that if watching Ultra HD (UHD) on Netflix requires at least Ā Mbps download speed? The Netflix website also shows the minimum download speed for HD Video isĀ 5 Mbps. Our calculator does all the math for you to see how much internet your household devices use.
Download Speed Recommendations
We recommend getting Sky Superfast, also known asĀ Sky Fibre Max, if your household uses 70 Mbps or less maximum download speeds. If your home uses more than 70 Mbps but less than 150 Mbps, you may look at Sky Ultrafast internet.Ā
If your maximum download speed recommendation is above 150 Mbps, we recommend getting Sky Ultrafast Plus. Unfortunately, having too little internet causes the buffering symbol to pop up whilst watching Netflix or other video platforms.
